What's New Sunday Edition!
No stories this morning of beautiful sunrises.....nope....it's pouring down rain right now, and the clouds are so low I cannot see across the bay. It's delightful!! When it rains here, the air becomes so fresh and clean, and the mountainside tomorrow will be emerald green! Our water on Maui is so tricky that when it doesn't rain we have to conserve.......and we love to have the reservoirs replenished when it pours like it is today.
Yesterday I went shopping at a thrift store. I am actually looking for a medium sized pet cage for my two kitties. In Sept. they are going to tent our whole building for termites and I will need to move out for five days. My poor little kitties will have to go, too, and they will freak. I'm trying to get a cage large enough for both of them and have it open with food, etc. inside for the next few months so they can get used to it. So far, no luck in finding a suitable one...but I'll keep looking.
While at the thrift store, they had a two for one and I got a beautiful long lightweight lounging gown AND a cute nightie for $5.99!! The long lounger feels good on this rainy morning......and I even have on socks!!
Today I think I'm going to curl up on the couch with a good book.....and sip tea. I hope you all have a good day, and I'm glad some of you are seeing the beginnings of glorious springtime! I miss daffodils and trees budding in the springtime.
Aloha nui loa,

It's 51 degrees ... saw robins too yesterday so it's a sure sign of spring. But it's the weekend so I'm not getting out of my jammies. I'm watching baseball, another sure sign of spring. That, and the NCAA. My knee is bothering me a bit today ... spent a half hour talking with my friend Mary Kay about the goings-on at the Press and then talked about our aches and pains (boy, do we sound like a couple of old women! ... well, I guess we are). She has back issues too and it's been hurting her the past couple of weeks. Fortunately, mine's been OK. Just the knee is a little ouchy today. I'm going to get back on my bike again, though ... 35 minutes yesterday again while I was on the phone with Margie.
Not much else going on, jus****ching baseball, doing laundry and catching up on my reading and rest. Trying to keep my legs elevated as much as possible because they get so swollen during the week. Oh, and I have to dump out a litter box. Such an exciting day!
Talked with mom, she says Aunt Bernice has to go in the hospital because one of her toes is going black. I have a feeling they may have to amputate, although mom didn't say that. I may have to call my cousin Patty and ask her. Aunt Bernice turns 91 on March 31, and hasn't been very mobile since last year. I would imagine her circulation is very poor.
Well, I got to get laundry going and turn on the ballgame. Have a good Sunday.
Woke to a gray, gloomy day, it's been sprinkling off and on. No crawfishing with Ethan in this weather. The temperature is in the mid 70s, so I guess it's spring! Our azaleas are in full bloom in the front yard, and George is still picking broccoli and brussel sprouts out back.
I had a spurt of energy, changed the sheets, made an oatmeal/cottage cheese pancake for breakfast, could only eat half, George finished it, cooked stewed okra, green beans, and broccoli. Cleaned the kitchen and took a 1/2 hour nap. I've never napped so much in my life. I didn't nap as a kid. I want my energy back!

Good evening, OFF'ers!!
It was a beautiful day today so before I head for bed, thought I'd post. I rarely post anymore to anything. Just lurk, I guess.
My life really is no life and just a worklife that I'm happy to have each and every day.
Last week was a little strained. Sister had bouts with congestive heart failure so I kept one eye open for a couple of nights, then youngest son had colonoscopy w/two polyps (his dad had colon cancer), so I was a little strung out til that was over... but the final blow was HR Benefits telling me that I had to call them in July to sign up for my MEDICARE SUPPLEMENTAL POLICY. Holy crap, I REALLY AM TURNING 65 THIS YEAR!!! I've been in denial for too long.
So, this morning, 4:22 a.m. I bounded out of bed, put on SIX layers of clothes, two pairs of socks, grabbed my jacket and went FISHING!! Never caught a keeper.... same problem I have in the Men Department. Had to throw them back. Came home empty-handed, smelling like minnows, but glad to be home. Corned beef and cabbage for dinner instead of fish.
I'll keep reading to see what you all are doing.
